Genuine or compatible: which should you buy?

Genuine (OEM) cartridges are made by the printer manufacturer. They match your printer's specifications exactly and are a good choice when the printer is under warranty or you need the manufacturer's documented yield.

Compatible cartridges are made by other manufacturers to fit the same printer. They usually cost less, and they work well for everyday printing. Each product page lists the printers it fits.

How to choose the right toner

Find your model number. It's usually on the front or inside the printer, or in the printer's settings menu.
Match the cartridge code. Toner codes such as TN, HP 85A, or GPR are printer-specific, so check that the code is listed for your model.
Check the page yield. Yield is the approximate number of pages a cartridge prints. Higher-yield cartridges usually cost less per page.
Color or black. Color printers need a separate cartridge for each color. Black-only printers need one.
